The Punters are a folk-rock band that formed in 1995 in St. John's, NL by Jason Whelan (vocals and guitar), Larry Foley (guitar and vocals), Patrick Moran (fiddle), Brian Kenny (bass guitar) and George Morgan (drums). Currently based in St. John's, Newfoundland, members of the group include Larry Foley (guitar and vocals) and Patrick Moran (fiddle) accompanied by Barry Hiller (bass guitar) and George Morgan (drums). The Punters performed Microsoft's first live web-cast on the Internet.

*The Punters watch "Law & Order" religiously.
*The Punters have scored two GM ads and three provincial election campaigns.
*The Punters can't get through a rehearsal without someone breaking into a Michael Jackson song.
*Due to a manufacturing error, about a hundred copies of The Punters' second CD, "Said she couldn't dance..." actually contain the music from Paul McCartney's "Flaming Pie" CD.
*The band loves watching Lawrence Welk, especially the accordion guy.
*Larry the Parrot and Patrick performed on the 2002 Juno Awards.
