Center for Asian Culinary Studies ("CACS") is a non-stock, non-profit educational facility located in San Juan in Metro Manila and in Metro Davao. It was first established in 2000 in Manila by Gene Gonzalez and in 2007, in Metro Davao. The school started out with daily short courses until they quickly evolved into a variety of professional courses which have been accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
It is the first culinary school in the Philippines to earn a Level IV accreditation—the highest possible level— in their Professional Program granted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It is the only culinary school with this certificate in education. It is also in consortium with the De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde.
Campus
The CACS Manila campus is currently located at 455 P. Guevarra Street San Juan, Metro Manila. It is currently housed within a 1927 ancestral home-turned restaurant called Cafe Ysabel. The school currently has 2 fully equipped and professional kitchen classrooms, a research and development kitchen, an extensive culinary library, a multipurpose hall, a chocolate room, a restaurant and bakeshop with commercial kitchens where the students take their internship.
