Thrupp and Brimscombe are small and mainly residential villages situated in the narrow Frome Valley just outside
Stroud, Gloucestershire .Brimscombe was made famous during the
Industrial Revolution by itsbank andcanal /rail links. Thrupp also was and still is home toEbley Mill , a famous producer of baize andfelt . Although there are still a handful of shops in Brimscombe, the economic situation of the village is not what it used to be. The last shop andpost office , TheHappy Shopper located in Thrupp closed in1998 , leaving only thepub and servicing garage. On the upside,Thrupp School is still a leadingprimary school across the area with a thriving arts community and connections with Randwick and Whiteshill.The two local
