Career
Suárez started his career at Unión San Vicente and he was later transferred to Belgrano in 2005. He was Belgrano's top scorer in the Primera B Nacional Argentina in 2007-2008.[4] Due to his performances he attracted the attention of R.S.C. Anderlecht of Belgium.[5]
Although Belgrano's fans didn't want him to leave the club as the team was fighting for promotion to the first division, Suàrez signed a contract with Anderlecht in May 2008. After a struggling first season, he became a regular in Anderlecht's title-winning squad in 2009-2010, scoring 11 goals among which the second goal in the 2–1 win at rivals Club Brugge that won the league title.[6]
In the 2011/2012 season, the then 23-year-old was the only hat-trick scorer on UEFA Europa League matchday one, inspiring Anderlecht to a 4-1 home win over AEK Athens FC. "It was my first hat-trick for Anderlecht," Suárez said. "I feel better than last season," he added. "I have built up some muscle but, more importantly, have become stronger mentally. My relationship with the coach has also changed. Ariël Jacobs gives me a lot of confidence and also talks with me more".[7]
