It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Milówka.[1] It lies It is situated in Żywiec Beskids mountain range, approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-west of Żywiec and 78 km (48 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice.
