Thoroughbred race horse who won the Epsom Derby in 1896.As a four-year-old he won the
Eclipse Stakes andAscot Gold Cup , and is the most recent Epsom Derby winner to have won the Ascot Gold Cup. His full brother, Diamond Jubilee won the Triple Crown in 1900.Persimmon became a successful sire, and amongst his offspring was Sceptre, winner of four classic races in 1902, and
Prince Palatine , winner of the Ascot Gold Cup in 1912 and 1913.References
