Jan Izydor Sztaudynger (born
April 28 ,1904 inKraków , diedSeptember 12 ,1970 in Kraków) was a Polishpoet andsatirist . He enjoyed enormous popularity as a poet in Poland after theSecond World War .Sztaudynger studied Polish and German
philology at theJagiellonian University . Between 1945 and 1961, he was a lecturer at the National Dramatic School of the Puppet-Show Theatre inŁódź .His work was best known for his
epigram s, called Fraszki, after the literary cafe "Fraszka" of 96 Piotrkowska Street, Łódź. In 1964 he published the poetry collection "Tranzytem przez Lodz", where he expressed his nostalgia for this cafe.Example Fraszki
