History

The station went on the air as KGVL-FM on 1984-04-02. On 1984-09-04, the station changed it's call sign to the current KIKT. Has aired different formats, including top 40 in the past. DJs who moved on to major market airwaves include Trey Elliot (KRSR Dallas) and Mike Sheppard (KRSR, KVIL, KZPS Dallas).

On May 7, 2008; KIKT along with sister station KGVL are under a criminal investigation by the Greenville Police Department regarding missing charity money. During the Fall of 2007, the United Way of America in Hunt County, Texas held their annual "Clothe-a-Child" charity, and the stations conducted "one or more" fundraisers in connection with that charity. However, the United Way claims they never received any money. Parent company Cumulus through an attorney has launched their own internal investigation.
