Murder, She Wrote DVD releases

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has started to release "Murder, She Wrote" on DVD. So far, seasons one to eight are available in Region 1 , Region 2 and Region 4 . DVD's have also been released in several countries around the world dubbed in their respective language.

The first and second season sets lacked in any special features other than a preview of other Universal releases. But since season three all seasons have had some sort of bonus included (except for season five in Region 2).

The season four set includes a bonus episode from season five, and the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons feature exclusive interviews with the cast and crew (the region 2 release of season five did not include the interview).

Like the first two seasons, season eight has no special features.

Cover art

Region 2 versions of seasons five and six have slightly different cover art to the Region 1 releases. Both have new pictures replacing the originals. Universal Playback have not given a reason for this, although the season six image may have been changed as the original picture was used on the back of the season one release in both regions.

The seasons seven and eight Region 2 releases have not received an altered cover art.

Other releases

In the United Kingdom, Universal Playback has released several "Murder, She Wrote" multi-season box sets. The first of which includes seasons one, two and three. The set was released on November 20 2006. On October 22 2007, a season one to five box set was released. For some unknown reason season six was not included in the set even though the season was released in September of that year.

All the multi-season releases include the same features as the single season releases just repackaged and bundled together.
