4 January 2008 at 14:08UTC aTransaven airlines Let L-410UVP-E3 (registration number YV2081) on a scheduled domestic flight fromSimón Bolívar International Airport servingCaracas to Los Roques Airport, reported as its last communication that it lost power in both engines at convert|3000|ft|m|abbr=on and descending. The aircraft was on a 024 radial heading relative to the airport of departure and convert|64|nmi|km to the north of it. The pilot was to attempt water landing near thecoral reef surrounding theLos Roques archipelago . The aircraft was never found, but life vests associated with it were recovered some days later. There were 12 passengers onboard and 2 crew. Remains of one male passenger was found later floating in the water.
