Akbarpura or Akbarpūra, is a village near the city of
Peshawar in theNorth-West Frontier Province ofPakistan . Akbar the Great who camped here before going toAfghanistan .The main Casts in Akbarpura are the 1.Sadats(Bukhari Syeds)(about 40%)2.The Mians ( The decents of a well known saint Abdul Wahab known as Akhund Panjo Baba)(25-30%)3. some other cast including The Parachas,Jhakars, Awan etc.
The peoples of Akbarpura are well educated and they are actively participating in the political affairs of the region.Cricket is the popular game of the village. Govt. Higher Secondary School Akbarpura stood first in the N.W.F.P Cricket tournament held in 2001. Akbarpura is also popular for its fruites crops of Plum(Alubukhara)and others.The Bara river is passing through the village of Akbar Pura, Now the newley constructed Peshawar-Islamabad Motarway is also passing near the village, kabul river also pass a few kilometers away from Akbarpura, the area is famous for different fruits, like, plum, apricot, Peech, Guawa etc, some 2 km away from akbarpura towards north there a village named Ali Shah, its was the village of Haji Muhammad yousuf Khan Late a well known personality of the area, this is a beautiful village, all covered by orchids, the peoples are hospitable and hard workers, most of them serve in Government departments but yet some are engaged in Agricultural activities, SubhanUllah GIS Engineer of Ali Shah
