Keith Wilson (English writer)

Keith Wilson is an English writer, musician, performance poet and broadcaster.

He signed his first recording contract aged 17 while serving an apprenticeship at Cammell Laird Shipbuilders in Birkenhead. A guitarist, poet and author of peculiar songs, he continues to tour and record when his other commitments allow.

He is well known in the UK for his sports poetry on television, having worked for Sky Sports, ITV Sport and BBC Sport, broadcasting from every major sporting event including the Olympic Games.

During 2006, he joined under cover reporter Donal MacIntyre as co-presenter on the third series of MacIntyre's Big Sting, broadcast on Channel Five.

His work as Artistic Director of Masque Theatre, a nationally acclaimed disabled people’s performance company based in Wirral, has yielded two national and eleven regional tours, plus numerous events of national and international significance.

He has worked on numerous Theatre-in-Education projects, performance events and festivals, including five consecutive years contributing to Liverpool Festival of Comedy. As part of the Millennium celebrations he was Creative Director of a major European Theatre Project (Culture 2000) across the UK, Spain, Italy and Finland.

As a film maker, he has made numerous promotional and corporate films and three shorts for the cinema. The first for Waterfont Films 'Skinflick' (1998) featured Jake Abraham (Lock, Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels) and Margi Clarke (Letter to Breznev).

In 2007, he signed with Setanta Sports, and now writes and occasionally presents a weekly item, usually broadcast prior to live soccer.

His new album 'Slip of the Tongue' was released in July 2008.
