Its seat is the village of Borzytuchom, which lies approximately convert|12|km|mi|0 north-west of Bytów and convert|85|km|mi|0|abbr=on west of the regional capital Gdańsk.

The gmina covers an area of convert|108.57|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 2,791.

The gmina contains part of the protected area called Słupia Valley Landscape Park.
