Akkol ( _kz. Ақкөл) is a town in northern Kazakhstan. It is located 100km north of the national capital Astana. The town is the administrative centre of Akkol District of Akmola Province, and has a population of 30 230 (2007). Most of the people are Kazakhs and Russians. There are smaller minorities of Ukrainians and Germans. The former name is Alexeyevka.
