Its seat is the village of Zarzecze, which lies approximately convert|10|km|mi|0 south of Przeworsk and convert|39|km|mi|0|abbr=on east of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|49.24|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 7,174.
