Design

Medal

The medal is two concentric discs placed one on top of the other; the top disc, being the hub of the propeller has four blades sitting on a golden Maltese cross. The golden sunburst has four rays, each of which appears between the flanges of the superimposed cross. It rest on a diamond in gold and hanging at its corners beneath the tips of the propeller blades. The propeller signifies aviation and aerial flight; the Maltese cross symbolizes the risk of life in the face of the enemy; the disc with rays stands for the good deed; and the diamond for usual aerial formation of planes in flight.

Ribbon

The ribbon has alternating colors of white, blue, gold and red stripes. The series on the ribbon is the same as the one on the medals fabric to represent it the same way.
