The Sports Report

The "Sports Report" [http://www.wtlw44.com/home/44Sports/tabid/57/Default.aspx] is also a widely popular 30-minute sports highlight show in Northwest Ohio. The show launched on WTLW TV 44 in 2005, the brainchild of Darren Looser (a.k.a. Grandpa) who is also a reporter/assistant producer, and features the most comprehensive local sports coverage in all of Northwest Ohio.

The show, based in Lima, Ohio, boasts the largest staff dedicated entirely to local sports. The show started with two anchors in season one, Justin Winerman and Andy Lynch [http://www.wtlw44.com/home/44Sports/MeettheTeam/tabid/69/Default.aspx] . Winerman has since been replaced by Mark Kunz [http://www.wtlw44.com/home/44Sports/MeettheTeam/tabid/69/Default.aspx] .The staff also included the previously mentioned Darren Looser [http://www.wtlw44.com/home/44Sports/MeettheTeam/tabid/69/Default.aspx] and Brandt Showalter [http://www.wtlw44.com/home/44Sports/MeettheTeam/tabid/69/Default.aspx] .

The Sports Report includes several successful weekly segments. Lynch spices up every Wednesday with a new edition of "Andy's Antics." The bit features a catchy theme song and shows the 6'7" Lynch attempting to learn a new sport or leisure activity. Diving, aerobic boxing, and pizza tossing are just a few of the attempted sports. Looser is well-known for his weekly segment "Ralphie's Top 5 Plays." Looser reviews the past week's greatest plays and moments and infuses his own energy and unique sense of humor. Showalter is known throughout the viewing area as "the man with the Golden Megaphone." In his "Fans of the Week" segment, Showalter presents the craziest fans of the week to the viewers who then log on to the show's website to vote for their favorite fans. Each week's winner is presented with a traveling Golden Megaphone.Tyler Albridge also works there and in his spare time practices his 'kickin" moves on the soccer field, while Zach Bowers who works with him balls it up in both the figure skating scene and in the waters of synchrnonized swimming.
