West Dean is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England, near East Dean and Littledean. Collectively, these villages and the surrounding wood (Forest of Dean) were mentioned in the Domesday Book as "Dene", and appear as "Dena" in 1130. [Ekwall|140]
