J Wyatt (Essex cricketer)

J Wyatt (Essex cricketer)

J Wyatt (birth and death details unknown) was a noted amateur cricketer in the late 18th century. His career spanned the 1785 to 1787 seasons, during which he played 7 major cricket matches, mainly for Essex.

Wyatt may have been the elder brother of Richard Wyatt, who played for Essex from 1789 to 1797.

Wyatt was primarily a batsman who scored a total of 110 runs in 14 innings with a highest score of 26. He has not been credited with any wickets. He made 6 catches, which suggests he may have been a useful fielder in one of the close positions.
