The University of Wisconsin Dairy Barn is a site significant for its association with the single-grain experiment, performed from 1907 to 1911 by Stephen Babcock. Built in 1897 on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, the building played an important role in the field of dairy science during the 20th century.
It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2005.[citation|title=PDFlink| [http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NHLS/Text/02000600.pdf National Historic Landmark Nomination: University of Wisconsin Dairy Barn] |574 KB|date=October 24, 2001 |author=Elizabeth L.
