Its seat is the town of Frampol, which lies approximately convert|16|km|mi|0 north of Biłgoraj and convert|64|km|mi|0|abbr=on south of the regional capital Lublin.

The gmina covers an area of convert|107.61|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 6,502 (out of which the population of Frampol amounts to 1,415, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 5,087).
