Its seat is the village of Warlubie, which lies approximately convert|23|km|mi|0 north-east of Świecie, convert|62|km|mi|0|abbr=on north of Toruń, and convert|67|km|mi|0|abbr=on north-east of Bydgoszcz.

The gmina covers an area of convert|200.97|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 6,473.

The gmina contains part of the protected area called Wda Landscape Park.
