Hamburger Stutenpreis

The Hamburger Stutenpreis is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Hamburg-Horn Racecourse, Hamburg in late June or early July.

In 1988 as the Grosser Philips-Preis the format was the same as the present version – a Group 3 race over 1,600 metres. The following year, however, it was dropped in class to Listed level and extended to 1,800 metres. Ungraded from 1993, the distance of the race was reverted to 1,600 metres in 1995. As the Schlenderhaner Stutenpreis the race regained Listed status in 2000, returning to Group 3 in 2004.

It has been run under various other titles, some of which are presently used for different races, such as the "Schwarzgold-Rennen" (1995-98) and the "Fährhofer Stutenpreis" (2001-05). Recently it has been run as the Alice-Cup (2006), the Credit Suisse-Rennen (2007) and the Preis der Spielbank Hamburg (2008).
