Aliagha Vahid

Aliagha Vahid ( _az. Əliağa Vahid), born Aliagha Mammadqulu oglu Isgandarov (1895, Baku1 October 1965, Baku), was an Azerbaijani poet. He was known for reintroducing medieval ghazel style in Soviet Azerbaijani poetry. Vahid also translated a number of works by Nizami, Fuzuli, Khagani and others into Azerbaijani language.

The poetry of Aliagha Vahid is widely used in modern Azerbaijan with "meykhana" music genre, which in 1990s laid the foundation of Azeri rap music.
