Nick Webb (born 1949) is a book editor and author. He approached Douglas Adams and John Lloyd in 1978, to commission the two of them for a novelization of the first radio series of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" for Pan Books in London. The book eventually was written solely by Adams, after a brief dispute with Lloyd, and was published in 1979. After the successful launch of the first Hitchhiker's novel, Webb left Pan, and, according to Neil Gaiman (in the book "Don't Panic"), "embark [ed] on a game of musical publishers that would take him [Webb] , in traditional publishing fashion, around most major British paperback publishers."

Webb remained friends with Douglas Adams through the rest of Adams' life. After Adams' death in 2001, Webb began work on a biography. The book was published as "Wish You Were Here: The Official Biography of Douglas Adams," first printed in the UK in 2003, and in the USA in 2005. Webb also wrote the 2005 book, "The Dictionary of Bullshit", which was published in the USA in 2006. He is currently studying astronomy in London.
