Joel Shubin

Joel Shubin (xxxx-1942) was a Russian agronomist and editor of the Moscow-based "Peasant Gazette" in the 1930s.

In 1932 Shubin married American journalist Anna Louise Strong, who was then editing the English-language version of another Soviet newspaper, "Moscow News", in Moscow. Shubin accompanied Strong during her trips back the United States. According to Rewi Allee's account, Strong later said:

:Perhaps we married because we were both so doggone lonely. But we were very happy.ref|Marriage

At one point Shubin was allegedly a Communist International representative to the American Communist Partyref|Comintern.
