Joel Shubin (xxxx-1942) was a
Russia nagronomist and editor of theMoscow -based "Peasant Gazette " in the 1930s.In 1932 Shubin married American
journalist Anna Louise Strong , who was then editing the English-language version of another Soviet newspaper, "Moscow News ", in Moscow. Shubin accompanied Strong during her trips back the United States. According toRewi Allee 's account, Strong later said::Perhaps we married because we were both so doggone lonely. But we were very happy.ref|Marriage
At one point Shubin was allegedly a
