"The History of Howard Stern" is an audio documentary series about the life and career of entertainer and disc jockey Howard Stern. The show features tapes of past Howard Stern Show segments from each stage in his career, new interviews with people involved with Stern's life, and references to local media coverage. The series debuted with Act 1 on December 17, 2007, and ran for an entire week with each episode lasting approximately five hours (or more).

The series will have two parts: Act 1 of the series ran for 5 days, and covered Stern's life and career from his early childhood until his firing from WNBC in New York City. According to the Howard Stern show, Act 2 will be ran during the Christmas break of 2008 and will cover Stern's career from K-Rock to the present.

The series is narrated by Jim Forbes, best known as narrator of VH1's "Behind the Music".

# Howard's Radio Journey Begins (1977-81): Working at WRNW (Westchester County, New York), WCCC (Hartford, Connecticut), and W-4 (Detroit, Michigan)
# Mr. Stern Goes to Washington (1981-82): Meeting Robin Quivers; becoming a star at DC-101 in Washington DC
# Welcome to the Big Apple (1982-84): Stern moves to WNBC, battles Don Imus, and becomes #1
# End of the WNBC Era (1984-85): Stern feuds with Soupy Sales, station management, and gets fired
