Ron Fisher

Ronald D. Fisher is the current Managing Director of Raytheon Australia and Vice-President of Raytheon International Inc and responsible for the executive management of Raytheon operations in Australia and New Zealand. He is credited with spearheading the rise of Raytheon Australia from a small shopfront in Canberra to a major competitor in the Australian Defence sector (fourth in 2006 AUS$512m turnover).fact|date=April 2008 Fisher previously served as President Raytheon Canada, President International Operations for South Asia, Senior and General Manager of Raytheon's Australian Engineering and Construction business. Before joining Raytheon, Ron was General Manager of Rockwell’s Australian Base Operations and Deputy General Manager of that company’s naval business with responsibility for providing system and software engineering, and management support, for all new business and programs established within Australia.fact|date=April 2008 He joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1966, specialising as a warfare officer and serving in a number and variety of naval warships, before retiring in 1988.fact|date=April 2008

Ron attended the University of New South Wales and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He also undertook graduate training during his naval career at the University of Technology, Sydney. Ron is a member of the Australian Defence Industry Advisory Council; the Capability Development Advisory Forum; a member of the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme Board; a board member of the Australian Defence College; a member of the Research Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council; and the Defence industry representative on the Australian Government’s Trade Policy Advisory Council.
