Serhiy Yefremov

Serhiy Yefremov (Ukrainian: Сергій Єфремов; 18 October 1876 – 31 March 1939) was a Ukrainian literary journalist, historian, critic, and political activist. He was arrested numerous times, and was the chief defendant in the 1929 public show trial of the leaders of the supposed Union for the Liberation of Ukraine. In 1930, he was sentenced to death, but the sentence was later commuted to ten years in prison. He died while in prison.
