Campanário is a parish in the district of Ribeira Brava in the
Madeira Islands . The population in2001 is 4,131, its density is 350.1/km² and the area is 11.8 km². It is located east of Calheta and west of the island's biggest city, Funchal. The main industry is agriculture. It is connected with road linking. TheAtlantic Ocean is to the south. The mountains are to the north with a mountaintop elevating 1,437 m to the north. Forests cover most of the parish. Grasslands and barren land cover the rest of Campanário and contain several streams and mountain roads. The embankment ofCabo Girão is aligned to the south.
