The Masonic order of Sierra Leone is a fraternal organization Freemasons lodge of whose membership was made up predominantly of Krios. The masonic order of Sierra Leone is similar to the Masonic Order of Liberia, except in Sierra Leone it was merely a brotherhood and had no political power whatsoever. The first African American settlers (more commonly known as 'The Nova Scotians' established the first Masonic lodge in Sierra Leone. The Nova Scotians were the highest class of blacks in Sierra Leone and were very inclusive.
