Elaia or Elea (Greek: Ελαία meaning
olive s, Bulgarian: Делиелес Turkish and Bulgarian Romanization: "Delneles") also with the i accented is a village in the northwestern part of theEvros Prefecture in Greece located west ofTurkey andEdirne , southeast ofOrmenio andSvilengrad , Bulgaria, north ofAlexandroupoli and east ofKurdzhali , Bulgaria,Athens , the Greek capital is nearly 1,100 km northeast. Plati is linked with the road connecting GR-51/E85 (Alexandroupoli - Soufli - Orestiada - Ormenio) and a road connecting Dikaia and Fylaki. Elaia is in the municipality ofTrigono . The village is located north of theArda River . Its 2001 population was 532 for the village. Much of the area are flat, the remainder of the area are hilly.Nearest places

History
The village was founded during the Ottoman period by the Turks, its population was Bulgarian and Turkish. After its annexation to Greece, many Greeks from east of the Evros river began to inhabit the area. After
World War II and theGreek Civil War , many of its buildings were rebuilt. Electricity and automobiles arrived in the 1960s, it was linked with pavement in the late-20th century, television arrived in the 1980s. Internet and computers arrived in the late-1990s. The village's population lost by over half between 1981 and 2001.Other
