PlayPhone is a mobile phone content provider based in San Jose, California. PlayPhone's main line of business is distributing mobile games, ring tones, wallpaper, videos and other personalized content for mobile phones. PlayPhone also provides subscription-based mobile portals for some of the world's top entertainment companies.

History

In 2003 PlayPhone pioneered the concept of direct-to-consumer mobile content distribution and powered the first off-deck downloads of mobile games in North America.http://www.openmarket.com/pdfs/PlayPhone.pdf]

PlayPhone offers a subscription-based service to provide games, ring tones, video tones, and wallpaper for mobile phones, and currently has a library of more than 150 games and thousands of ring tones.
