The Gators started the season looking to end the recent steaks of losing in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators finished the season with a 24-6 record entering the SEC Championship. They won all three games and received and number 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They raced through the tournament and reached the final against UCLA. They beat them 73-57 to win their fist ever Championship.
