The 2005-06 Florida Gators men's basketball team was a Division 1 college basketball team that competed in the Southeastern Conference. The Gators started the season looking to end the recent steaks of losing in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators finished the season with a 24-6 record entering the SEC Championship. They won all three games and received and number 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They raced through the tournament and reached the final against UCLA. They beat them 73-57 to win their fist ever Championship.
