Sunbeams School

Sunbeams School is a private school located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was one of the first schools to establish English as the medium of instruction. Up until 1994 the school provided instruction through Grade 5, but Sunbeams is now conducting A'Level exams in Grade 12. It was founded by Niloufer Manzur in 1974. The schools junior campus is located in the residential district of Dhanmondi in Dhaka. The senior campus is located in uttara.

The uttara campus has classes 5 -A' Levels. The Junior campus has classes playgroup- class 5.

12 students from Sunbeams School achieved the Edexcel GCE O/A Level Examinations Top 10 world highest scores in the May-June 2008 examination session in various subjects, which include Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Bangla, Geography, Human Biology and Physics, among other GCE O Level subjects while GCE A Level subjects include Business Studies and Accounting.

Another point to be noted is that, the GCE "O" Level batch of 2008 did outstanding with the grades consisting of 80.21% A's, 16.26% B's and 3.25% C's, while the GCE AS level batch of 2008 did a terrific job as well.

Be it academically or extra curricular activity-wise, Sunbeams has never failed to impress. Their impressive tenure in the inter-school football and basketball tournaments, participation in Commonwealth essay competitions, numerous debate competitions, art competitions, various community service projects, underground concerts and drama shows, Sunbeams School stands strong as one of the best private English Medium schools in Bangladesh for years on end, with a caring and dedicated teaching staff and an impressive Uttara campus fit with fantastic facilities, such as lockers, playgrounds, football field(under construction), an auditorium, centrally air conditioned classrooms, a cafeteria(with the Bella Italia cook) and transport facilities.

Sunbeams currently has two branches: The Junior secttion, in Dhanmondi Road 27(Playgroup to Class 5) The Uttara campus, in Sector 10, Uttara(Playgroup to A Levels)
