Plot summaries

Jeph Loeb

In the first story arc, "Power" (issues #1-5, illustrated by Ian Churchill), Supergirl meets and ends up fighting many different DC characters as she searches for how she fits in on earth. When Lex Luthor exposes her to black kryptonite, a doppelgänger emerges wearing a sleek black costume. After a showdown with the JLA, Dark Kara and Supergirl are recombined into one.

Joe Kelly

The next story arc, "Candor" (issues #6-8), is kicked off with an issue guest written by Greg Rucka. The rest of the arc is written by the new regular series writer, Joe Kelly. It is set a year after the events of the last story arc. Supergirl and Powergirl are fighting on Kandor disguised as Flamebird and Nightwing respectively.
