USS Ontario

There have been several United States Navy ships that have borne the name "Ontario", after Lake Ontario. See also Ontario (disambiguation) for other uses.

* The first USS|Ontario|1812|2 was a lake schooner in the United States Navy during the War of 1812.
* The second USS|Ontario|1813|2 was a 16 gun rated sloop of war in the United States Navy during the years following War of 1812.
* A screw sloop was laid down in 1863 as "Ontario", renamed "New York" 1869 , and sold while still on the stocks, in 1888.
* Another "Ontario" (Fleet Collier No. 2) was laid down as a collier 18 October 1907 at the Mare Island Navy Yard, Vallejo, California; launched 5 December 1908; and commissioned 15 January 1910. She was decommissioned 7 April 1913, was converted into a repair ship and renamed "Prometheus" (Repair Ship No. 2) on 23 December 1914.
* The third USS|Ontario|AT-13|2 was a single screw seagoing tug, was laid down by the New York Shipbuilding Co., Camden, N. J. 23 November 1911; launched 11 April 1912; and commissioned at Philadelphia Navy Yard 4 September 1912.
