Kennard is a village in Washington County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 371 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Kennard is located at coor dms|41|28|27|N|96|12|13|W|city (41.474254, -96.203706)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 371 people, 143 households, and 106 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,242.0 people per square mile (477.5/km²). There were 148 housing units at an average density of 495.5/sq mi (190.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.77% White, 0.27% African American, 0.81% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.27% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.27% of the population.

There were 143 households out of which 37.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.0% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% were non-families. 21.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 3.04.

In the village the population was spread out with 29.9% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 100.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $32,917, and the median income for a family was $50,625. Males had a median income of $35,500 versus $23,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $17,499. About 2.0% of families and 5.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.4% of those under age 18 and 14.6% of those age 65 or over.
