Family

The Duke was the elder son of the 9th Duke by his second wife (Margaret) Elisabeth McConnel (1918-1993). He has been married twice. His first marriage was on 10 September, 1977 to Lady Jane Meriel Grosvenor (b. 8 February, 1953; now Lady Jane Dawnay since 1996), younger daughter of Robert Grosvenor, 5th Duke of Westminster; the couple were divorced in 1990 after producing two sons and a daughter. The Duke is presently married since 1992 to Virginia Mary Wynn-Williams, daughter of David Wynn-Williams; he has one son and one daughter by her.

She is now married as of 26 July 2008 (engaged December 2007) to James Grimston, Viscount Grimston (b. 1978), eldest son of the Earl and Countess of Verulam. The Duke has a younger brother Lord Robert Innes-Ker (b. 1959) who is married, with one son and one daughter.

The only heirs in the Innes-Ker family to the dukedom are the present Duke's three sons, his younger brother, and a nephew. Further heirs may exist thanks to the dukedom's unusual remainder.
