North Vista Education Center is a public alternative school in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA. NVEC provides educational opportunities for pregnant and parenting teens from the thirteen member school districts of Intermediate District #287. North Vista has been in existence for 25 years as a public school, although it is quite small. NVEC has an enrollment of about 75 students.
Any pregnant or parenting teens who live in the area served by Intermediate District #287 may attend. Students from other districts may attend on a space available basis. Student parents must have a need for day care services, and pregnant teens must be receiving medical care.
In fitting with its mission as a teen parent school, the North Vista program provides day care services to the teen parents. And a nurse is available to monitor the development of the children and to assist the student parents with health and safety issues.
