"Tony Takitani" (トニー滝谷) is a 2004 Japanese movie directed by Jun Ichikawa, based upon the short story by Haruki Murakami.

Inspiration

Haruki Murakami was intrigued by the name Tony Takitani when, at a garage sale on Maui, he found a yellow T-shirt that said, Tony Takitani, House (D). At the time, Takitani was running for office. Murakami decided to write the man's life story as this novel. [ [http://www.lovehkfilm.com/panasia/tony_takitani.htm lovehkfilm.com] , cites "The Daily Yomiuiri".]

When she dies suddenly, he is completely distraught and sets about hiring a woman as an assistant, with the one primary condition being that she should wear his wife's clothes to work.
