East Meadow High School is a high school in the East Meadow school district. East Meadow High School was founded in 1953, as part of what is currently the third largest school district in
New York State . There are approximately 1,650 students in grades 9-12. Approximately 88% of last year's graduating class continued their education with 60.37% going on to four- year colleges, and 26.93% to two-year colleges.The principal is retiring.
Music Program
East Meadow High School is home to one of the best marching bands on Long Island. The band comes in first place virtually every year in the Columbus Day Parade in New York City. Along with the award winning marching band, EMHS is also home to a great jazz program and has recently formed a percussion ensemble. Every year there is a Michael Blutman award given out to a band member in recognition of the great alumni trumpet player Michael Blutman who has lead the marching band to first place in the Columbus Day Parade countless times.

East Meadow provides many opportunities for students to participate in sports. There are three separate seasons each offering a variety of sports for students to choose from.
