John Edward Glennon was born
September 3 ,1932 inKingston, New York .Career
Following the Depression, he became a school
teacher . Subsequently, Glennon became a school principal inMillbrook, New York and later the superintendent of theMillbrook Central School District .As superintendent, Mr. Glennon was forced into a position in which he established an important legal precedent for disciplining students who posed a danger to other students. After Mr. Glennon protected the general student body by suspending a student from school, the student and his family sued Mr. Glennon. The courts vindicated his decisions.
