Born in Doncaster, Yorkshire,[citation needed] Parkinson's career has been on a lower profile than her more famous husband, though she presented the 1970s magazine programme Good Afternoon, produced by Thames Television. Amongst other TV work, she has also frequently appeared as a panelist on Through the Keyhole.
