U. Narayan Bhat is an Indian-American mathematician, known for his contributions to
queueing theory andreliability theory .He received a
B.A. inmathematics (1953) andB.T. ineducation (1954) fromUniversity of Madras , an M.A. instatistics (1958) fromKarnatak University inDharwar andPh.D. inmathematical statistics fromUniversity of Western Australia on the dissertation "Some Simple and Bulk Queueing Systems: A Study of Their Transient Behavior" (1965).
