Gladstone-Dale relation

Gladstone-Dale relation

Gladstone-Dale relation gives a relation between the density and the refractive index of a fluid and is given as:

:ρ = K (n-1), where,

ρ is the density of the fluid n is the refractive index of the fluid and K is the Gladstone-Dale constant, which is dependent on the chemical composition of the fluid.

It is also used by geologists in the crystallography of different minerals.
