David Bereit is an American pro-life activist. Currently, he is the national director of 40 Days For Life, a Christian pro-life organization which opposes the actions of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers through Prayer and Fasting, Peaceful Vigil, and Community Outreach.
Career
Bereit began pro-life work in 1998 when Planned Parenthood announced plans to build an abortion clinic in Bryan, Texas. He helped start the Coalition for Life, a grassroots pro-life organization that rallied the congregations of over 60 local churches dedicated to ending abortion in their community (the Brazos Valley).[1]
David Bereit is the national campaign director of “40 Days for Life,” which he helped found in Bryan/College Station, Texas, area in 2004.
Bereit moved to Washington, D.C., in 2005. He served as executive director of the American Life League and national director of Stop Planned Parenthood before accepting the post of leading the national 40 Days for Life campaign.
He has appeared in support of the pro-life movement on a variety of major television networks, including the three major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS and NBC); Fox News; and Home Box Office (HBO). He also has appeared on countless radio programs and has been featured in more than 100 U.S. newspapers – including USA Today, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times.
