Thunder Mountain is a mountain located in Sierra Nevada mountain range of California. The mountain's summit is located between Silver Lake to the west and Kirkwood Mountain Resort to the east. The mountain has two summits, one is a Unit ft|9408|0-high western-subpeak marked on topographic maps as Thunder Mountain and the other is an unmarked peak at an elevation of Unit ft|9410|0 located to the east of the subpeak.Cite web|title=USGS CAPLES LAKE (CA) Topo Map|work=USGS Quad maps|url=http://www.topoquest.com/map.asp?lat=38.6766&lon=-120.08532&datum=nad83&u=4&layer=DRG&size=l&s=50|publisher=TopoQuest.com|accessdate=2008-06-30] The eastern summit is also the county highpoint of Amador County.
