Gipsy class destroyer

Three Gipsy class destroyers served with the Royal Navy [ [http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/gypsy_class.htm Gypsy Class ] ] . HMS "Osprey", "Fairey" and "Gipsy" were three funnelled convert|30|kn|km/h|sing=on C class destroyers built by Fairfield with Thorneycroft boilers. The convert|209|ft|m|sing=on long ships were armed with the standard 12-pounder gun and two torpedo tubes and all three served in the First World War in home waters.

*HMS Leven, launched 1898, HMS Falcon, 1899, and HMS Ostrich, 1900, are either grouped as the Falcon class destroyers or as other members of the "Gipsy" class.
