Struggle Down Under (Choose Your Own Adventure)

Struggle Down Under (Choose Your Own Adventure)

"Struggle Down Under" is a gamebook (a form of narrative, usually written in the second person, that allows the reader to participate in the story by choosing various narrative paths using numbered references) in the Choose Your Own Adventure series. It was written by Shannon Gilligan and was originally published as "Terror in Australia" in 1988 as the eighty first book in the original Choose Your Own Adventure series, published by Bantam Books. It was republished in 2007 as part of the relaunched series of Choose Your Own Adventure Books, published by Chooseco. It is the twenty-first book in the republished series. The text was updated in the new version to reflect changes in technology since the book's original release.

CYOA

As is the custom for Choose Your Own Adventure, the story is told from the “You” perspective, placing the reader as the protagonist and giving them a new choice virtually every page until they reach end, at which point they have either succeeded or met some potentially terrible fate.

Plot

Your uncle Gilroy has found an amulet that unlocks the mystery of a strange civilization in the Australian desert, the previously only mythical city of Satyrion. You rush out to join him for an exciting trip through the outback. You learn quickly that Gilroy’s find in the sands has unlocked more than an ancient mystery: greedy strangers are on the same trail, but they are seeking uranium, not ancient relics. And they’ll do anything to stop people who are in their way!
